生活中总会出现各式各样、或大或小的矛盾，吵架、大吵一架，在英文中通常是如何表达的呢？今天和北雅一起学习一下Fight、Quarrel、Argue。

Fight

打架？吵架？

既是动词，也是名词

1. have a fight

We had a fight just now.

2. get into a fight

He made a mistake, so we got into a fight.

用with说明对象

I had/got into a fight with my parents.

用about/over说明原因

We had a fight over the movie.

我们因为这场电影吵了一架。

What was your fight about?

你们是为了什么吵架？

吵架程度大小

We had a little fight, but we’re all good now.

我们之前有点吵架，但现在没事了。

big/huge fight 大吵一架

nasty fight 恶语相向

Fighting 战斗；斗争

在英语中原本没有“加油”的意思

They’re fighting for the World Cup tonight.

他们今晚在为世界杯而战斗。

Quarrel

用法基本同fight

发音 quarrel vs squirrel (松鼠)

lovers’ quarrel 爱人、情侣间的吵架

Argue

用法基本同fight

常用于职场、学术场合

We argued over the project at the meeting.

我们在会议上为了方案争论。

I argued against the plan.

我抵制这个计划。

名词 Arguement

It was a meaningful arguement.

这是一场有意义的争论。

Scold

常用于对层级低的进行责骂，如下级、孩子等

My dad scolded me for coming home late.

我爸因为我回家晚骂我。

The boss is scolding his staff for being late.

那个老板因为员工迟到正在骂他。

常用表达

yell at 朝...大声吼

I try not to yell at my son and be patient with him.

tell off 斥责

My roommates are too noisy, i’m going to tell them off.
